About & Biography

Chemist with over a decade of research experience spanning IIT Delhi, TU Dortmund, and the University of Kent, specializing in protein solvation dynamics, macromolecular crowding, and the structure and dynamics of non-canonical nucleic acids. My work combines single-molecule FRET, high-pressure spectroscopy, and time-resolved fluorescence to understand how crowded and confined cellular environments shape the folding, stability, and interactions of proteins and nucleic acids. As an Assistant Professor at SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Delhi-NCR Campus, I am building an independent research programme in biophysical chemistry while mentoring students to reason carefully and work rigorously at the interface of chemistry and biology. In teaching, I aim to make physical chemistry intuitive by grounding theory in hands-on experimentation, and to draw students into open questions in the field rather than have them simply memorize established answers.
