Dr. Sorabh Chaudhary

I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biology at SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Delhi-NCR Campus, and hold a PhD in Biotechnology. My academic experience combines teaching, research, student mentoring, and academic administration. I am particularly interested in interdisciplinary approaches that connect biology with computational tools, artificial intelligence, biotechnology, and sustainable technologies. My research focuses on plant–microbe interactions, computational biology, bioinformatics, agricultural biotechnology and nanobiotechnology. My work encompasses the biology, epidemiology, pathogenicity, molecular characterization, and management of phytopathogens. I am also interested in biocontrol agents, essential oils, transcriptomics, and precision agriculture, with the broader goal of developing sustainable and technology-driven solutions for crop protection and agricultural productivity. My teaching philosophy emphasizes active learning, critical thinking, scientific inquiry, and connecting theoretical concepts with real-world clinical and experimental applications. I strive to create an engaging learning environment that encourages students to question, explore, and independently develop scientific perspectives. For interdisciplinary courses such as Computational Biology, I emphasize hands-on learning, visualization, demonstrations, and applications of computational and AI-based approaches to biological problems. I encourage students to think critically, ask questions, collaborate, and develop the ability to apply biological knowledge beyond the classroom. My goal is not only to teach scientific concepts but also to nurture curiosity, analytical thinking, research skills, and lifelong learning.
