I am Dr. Subash Harizan, holding a Ph.D. from the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Sikkim and an M.Tech from the University of Calcutta. My academic and professional interests lie at the intersection of intelligent computing, optimization, and emerging technologies. My research focuses on developing computationally efficient and intelligent solutions for complex real-world problems using evolutionary and multi-objective optimization techniques.
Research Focus
My research interests primarily include Evolutionary Algorithms, Multi-Objective Optimization, Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs), Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), and the Internet of Things (IoT). I am particularly interested in applying intelligent optimization and learning-based approaches to address challenges involving resource optimization, network performance, energy efficiency, decision-making, and intelligent systems. My research also explores the integration of AI, ML, optimization techniques, and IoT technologies to develop practical and scalable solutions for real-world applications.
Teaching Philosophy
My teaching philosophy is centered on learning through understanding, practical application, and problem solving. I believe that students learn technical concepts more effectively when theoretical foundations are connected with real-world examples and hands-on applications. I encourage students to develop analytical thinking, programming skills, creativity, and the ability to independently approach complex problems. In my teaching, I aim to create an interactive learning environment where students are encouraged to ask questions, experiment with ideas, and connect classroom concepts with emerging technologies and current research. My goal is not only to teach technical knowledge but also to nurture curiosity, innovation, research-oriented thinking, and lifelong learning among students.
