What It Really Costs to Study at SRM IST Delhi-NCR in 2026-27: Tuition, Hostel, Mess and Bus Fees
The fee structure page for the Delhi-NCR campus has everything on it, but in four separate tables: programme fees, the international boarding house, the regular hostels and the college buses. Families usually want one number: how much will the first year cost, and how much after that?
This guide puts those tables together. All figures are for the 2026-27 academic year and are taken from the official fee schedule. Fees are revised from year to year, so the four-year totals below assume today's fees stay the same. Treat them as a planning estimate, not a quote.
What you pay in the first year vs later years
Every programme has the same structure. You pay the annual tuition fee every year. In the first year, you also pay three one-time charges:
- Registration: ₹10,000 (₹5,000 for B.Sc. Computer Science and B.Sc. Hospitality and Hotel Administration)
- Extra-curricular activities: ₹10,000
- Security deposit: ₹1,000, refundable
So the first year costs ₹21,000 more than the following years for most programmes, and ₹16,000 more for the two B.Sc. programmes.
Tuition fees by programme (2026-27)
| Programme | Duration | Tuition per year | First-year total |
| B.Tech CSE | 4 years | ₹3,50,000 | ₹3,71,000 |
| B.Tech CSE (AI & ML) | 4 years | ₹3,50,000 | ₹3,71,000 |
| B.Tech CSE (Data Science) | 4 years | ₹2,50,000 | ₹2,71,000 |
| B.Tech CSE (Cyber Security), CSE (Cloud Computing), ECE, ECE (Data Science), Electronics (VLSI), Mechanical, Mechanical (AIML), Automobile | 4 years | ₹2,00,000 | ₹2,21,000 |
| B.Pharm | 4 years | ₹1,25,000 | ₹1,46,000 |
| BBA, BCA, BCA (Data Science) | 3 years | ₹1,00,000 | ₹1,21,000 |
| B.Sc. Computer Science, B.Sc. Hospitality and Hotel Administration | 3 years | ₹60,000 | ₹76,000 |
| MBA | 2 years | ₹3,00,000 | ₹3,21,000 |
| MCA | 2 years | ₹1,25,000 | ₹1,46,000 |
| MCA (Generative AI) | 2 years | ₹1,35,000 | ₹1,56,000 |
| M.Tech CSE, M.Tech AI | 2 years | ₹1,00,000 | ₹1,21,000 |
The biggest gap is inside B.Tech itself. Core CSE and CSE with AI & ML cost ₹3.5 lakh a year, while Cyber Security, Cloud Computing and the electronics and mechanical branches cost ₹2 lakh. Over four years, that is a ₹6 lakh difference in tuition alone. If you are deciding between CSE branches, our comparison of the CSE specialisations looks at that choice in detail.
Hostel and mess fees
The campus hostels have room for over 2,000 students, in separate blocks for boys and girls, with both AC and non-AC options. All three room types below include the same mess fee and laundry charge.
| Room type | Room rent | Mess | Laundry | Security (refundable) | Total per year |
| AC, three-seater | ₹85,000 | ₹55,000 | ₹6,500 | ₹10,000 | ₹1,56,500 |
| Non-AC, two-seater | ₹75,000 | ₹55,000 | ₹6,500 | ₹5,000 | ₹1,41,500 |
| Non-AC, three-seater | ₹50,000 | ₹55,000 | ₹6,500 | ₹5,000 | ₹1,16,500 |
Gym access is optional, at ₹5,000 a year.
The security amount is a deposit, so from the second year onwards you can expect to pay ₹1,46,500 for an AC three-seater, ₹1,36,500 for a non-AC two-seater and ₹1,11,500 for a non-AC three-seater, if fees stay the same.
The difference between the cheapest and the most expensive regular room comes down to the room rent: ₹50,000 against ₹85,000. That is ₹35,000 a year, or ₹1.4 lakh across a four-year course. For some families that settles the AC question. For others, a Modinagar summer settles it the other way.
The Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Boarding House
The campus also has a separate, higher-end residence: the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Boarding House. It has 206 air-conditioned rooms with attached bathrooms, intercoms, study desks and wardrobes, a multi-cuisine dining hall, a snooker and table tennis area, lounges, and housekeeping and laundry services.
| Room type | Rent | Mess | Laundry | Amenities (one-time) | Security (refundable) | Total |
| AC, two-seater | ₹1,25,000 | ₹1,25,000 | ₹12,500 | ₹10,500 | ₹10,000 | ₹2,83,000 |
| AC, three-seater | ₹1,00,000 | ₹1,25,000 | ₹12,500 | ₹10,500 | ₹10,000 | ₹2,58,000 |
The optional gym charge here is ₹12,000 a year.
Most of the extra cost compared with the regular hostel is the mess: ₹1,25,000 a year here, against ₹55,000 in the regular hostels. Ask the admissions office about room availability before you plan around it.
College bus fees
If you are staying at home, the campus runs 27 air-conditioned buses with GPS and CCTV cameras, on routes across Delhi, Noida, Ghaziabad and Meerut. The bus fee depends on where you board:
| Boarding from | Fee per year |
| Ghaziabad, Meerut, Hapur | ₹45,000 |
| Delhi, Noida, Mohan Nagar, Indirapuram | ₹55,000 |
Seats are booked and paid for through the SRM student portal. A demand draft in favour of "SRMIST", payable at New Delhi, is also accepted. The route list with stops is on the Transport page; check that your stop is on it before you count on the bus.
The campus is on the Delhi-Meerut Road in Modinagar. The Delhi Metro reaches Ghaziabad but not the campus, so day scholars from Delhi and Noida usually rely on the college bus. Living at home saves you roughly ₹60,000 to ₹1 lakh a year compared with a hostel room, but a long daily ride every day for four years has its own cost. If you can, take the bus route once at the actual morning timing before deciding.
Four worked examples
These are rough totals, using 2026-27 fees for every year. Refundable deposits are included in the first year.

- Four years: about ₹20.2 lakh
2. B.Tech CSE (Cyber Security), non-AC three-seater hostel
- First year: ₹2,21,000 + ₹1,16,500 = ₹3,37,500

- Two years: about ₹7.3 lakh
Books, a laptop, exam fees, travel home and personal spending are not included in any of these. If you are planning to sit for campus placements, the placement policy also lists a non-refundable placement registration fee (₹9,500 in the current policy), usually paid in the final year.
Hostel rules worth knowing before you pay
The hostel policy is long, but a few rules affect money and planning directly:
- Hostel fees are paid in full, online, at the time of admission. Part payment is not encouraged. Students on a scholarship also pay first, and the hostel adjusts once the scholarship amount is received.
- Refunds are limited. A first-year student who withdraws from the programme before it starts gets the full hostel fee back, minus a ₹5,000 cancellation fee. After classes start, rent and mess are charged for the months completed (rounded up to the full month) and the rest is refunded. From the second year on, there is no refund for leaving the hostel mid-year, unless you are leaving the programme itself.
- Final-year students on an approved internship or project in their last semester may get the mess fee back, with approval from their guide and HoD. Students selected for a semester abroad can get one semester's mess fee refunded.
- Rooms are allotted online, with choices offered at the time of booking, and are usually not changed afterwards. Students from different states and backgrounds are deliberately placed together.
- Everyone vacates the hostel in the summer break. You may get a different room when you come back.
- Parents can stay for a day or two, on payment, if rooms are available and the hostel office is told at least seven days in advance.
On food: the mess serves North Indian, South Indian and Chinese food, with vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. The menu is set by a mess committee that includes student representatives and wardens. Food is not served in rooms, and wasting food is fined.
On safety: the campus has 24x7 security, CCTV cameras across hostel blocks and walkways, an electronic visitor system and an automated out-pass system for hostellers. There is a medical centre on campus with an ambulance available round the clock. The 27.14-acre campus also has a bank branch, ATMs of three banks and a salon, so day-to-day errands do not need a trip to town.
Help with fees
