Events, News & Announcements
The Department of Language, Culture and Society strongly believes in holistic education that extends beyond classroom learning. The department regularly organises extempore competitions, debates, workshops, expert lectures, educational visits, cultural events, exchange programmes, and awareness campaigns to nurture confidence, creativity, leadership, and intercultural understanding among students.
Signature events such as FREGEJA – The World of Languages and Confluence: Voices of the World have successfully celebrated linguistic diversity and cultural harmony through multilingual performances, poetry, quizzes, skits, and artistic presentations. These events provide students with valuable opportunities to showcase their talents while promoting global citizenship and mutual respect for different cultures.
The department has organised impactful workshops on communication skills, digital creativity, and language enhancement in collaboration with prestigious organisations including AICTE Training and Learning Academy (ATAL) and NITTTR Chandigarh. Expert lectures by eminent academicians and scholars have further enriched students’ understanding of technology-enabled learning, literature, communication, and community engagement.
Educational visits to institutions such as the National Museum and the National Gallery of Modern Art have provided students with meaningful exposure to India’s artistic, literary, and cultural heritage. These experiences bridge the gap between theoretical learning and practical understanding.
The department has also actively promoted Indian values and constitutional awareness through programmes such as Constitution Day celebrations and Bhartiya Gyan Parampara lectures. These initiatives encourage students to appreciate democratic principles, ethical values, traditional wisdom, and cultural identity while becoming responsible global citizens.
Furthermore, the Campus Exchange Programme conducted in collaboration with SRM University strengthened academic interaction, cultural exchange, and collaborative learning among students and faculty members.
