SRM IST provides an interface between the academics and corporate world through interactive sessions, workshops, industrial visits, live projects etc. with leading practitioners. Such interactions provide insights and lessons to the students to align themselves better with their choice of industry as well as in the academic world.

The past decade saw massive changes to the global and national economy, functioning of the enterprises, technology drives in businesses, hiring trends and campus placements. Students of SRM IST have been able to keep up with this changing landscape in finding suitable and often senior roles in their choice of industries.

SRM IST is committed to rope in several opportunities from leading enterprises from diverse industries such as marketing, technology, finance, accounting, engineering, human resources, operations, consulting, etc. Our students are preferred as they are equipped with in-depth knowledge of their respective domain along with hands-on experience that helps them perform various roles confidently.

A large corporate network ensures that a wide variety of opportunities are presented to the students. Year on year, these numbers have shown substantial improvement with more number of companies visiting our campus to fulfill their hiring needs. Our students are instilled with both technical as well as soft skills to attain professional and personal heights of creativity and freedom in their preferred area of work.

Our students also help conduct and participate in various workshops, guest lectures and seminars as well as in various extra-curricular activities for holistic personality development. Our students are passionately groomed not only as innovative, efficient and industry-ready professionals but also responsible citizens of the society.

International collaborations with universities in the US, UK, Korea, New Zealand and Switzerland extend enormous opportunities for students to study at globally renowned centers of excellence. Such interactions help them to gain in-depth exposure to a different study environment and prepare them to adapt suitably to excel in the global work environment. They also gain from the experience of learning from cross-cultures, mindsets and work styles.

Placement Office

The Placement Office provides an interface between the academic and corporate worlds through interactive sessions, workshops, industry visits, and much more with leading organizations. It also regularly coordinates with the best national and international companies for campus recruitments.

The Placement Office also trains the students through focused mentoring sessions to inculcate in them the right skills and attitudes to be relevant to their respective industries. Such training sessions widen the students’ educational and employment options to allow them access to better jobs.

In 2016-17, 469 companies offered 5,684 jobs at the campus recruitments. Some of the better-known companies who attended the placement drive were Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Siemens, Hyundai Motors, Fuji Xerox (Japan), Bank of America, Honda, SAP Labs, Michelin, CISCO, Shell India and Vestas. Many companies also want us to increase our student enrolment numbers to satisfy their recruitments fully.

The Placement Office regularly undertakes the following activities:

  • Advanced Training: This year we have partnered with the Campus Corporate Connect (CCC) for advanced training in Competitive Coding and Aon CoCubes for assessments.
  • Internships and in-plant training for students across various industries.
  • Prepare students to face campus interviews through focused-training in aptitude tests, group discussions, technical and HR interviews.
  • Invite corporate experts and industry leaders for guest lectures, seminars, interactions, etc. with the students and faculty.
  • Establish an industry-academia collaboration for research purposes.
  • Coordinate with various corporates to establish their Centre of Excellence, Incubation Centre, R&D Center, and other initiatives.
  • Coordinate various Faculty Development Programs with the corporate houses.
  • Coordinate with industry-oriented electives.
  • Host contests, competitions, and events to instill a sense of competition in the students.
  • Promote career-counseling through senior corporate personnel and senior students.
  • Organize campus interviews for final-year students with global and national industries and business houses of repute.
  • Placement of students through campus recruitments.
