ELIGIBILITY

Kindly refer to the respective Institution's website for the eligibility of the programmes offered for each course.

Kashmir migrants are eligible for a relaxation in the eligibility criteria for admission subject to the minimum eligibility requirements as per the UGC.

B.Tech Programmes (Duration: 4 years)

Nationality and Age

Resident Indian or Non-Resident Indian (NRI), holders of PIO or OCI cards issued by the Government of India are eligible to apply for the SRMJEEE (UG).

Note: NRIs, holders of PIO or OCI cards issued by the Government of India who have not taken the SRMJEEE (UG) must apply under the ‘International Student’ category only.

Candidates should also have attained a minimum age of 16 years and 6 months on 31st of July of the calendar year in which the 12th Board examination is to be held (source).

Qualifying Examination

All B.Tech programmes 50% in PCM


  • Passed in Higher Secondary examination (10+2 pattern) or appearing in Higher Secondary examination in the current academic year with Physics and Mathematics as the compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/Technical Vocational subject/Computer Science/Information Technology/Informatics Practices/Agriculture/Engineering Graphics/Business Studies as major subjects in the regular stream from any state boards within India, CBSE, ICSE, Matriculation, or NIOS.

    Note: Students who have completed 10+2 under the NIOS must have also completed the 10th standard from a regular schooling or vice-versa (source).

  • GCE A-level or International Baccalaureate (IB) diploma or IB certificate with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/Technical Vocational subjects/Computer Science/Information Technology/Informatics Practices/Agriculture/Engineering Graphics/Business Studies as major subjects (equivalent to an Advanced Placement level in each subject) in any international school within India.

M.Tech Programme (Duration: 2 years)

Specialization Eligibility(A basic undergraduate degree or equivalent with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks)
Computer Science & Engineering B.E/B.Tech. in CSE/IT/SWE/ECE/EEE/EIE & ICE (or) MCA (or) M.Sc. (CS/CST/IT/SW) (or) its equivalent.

MBA (Duration: 2 years)

Specialization Eligibility
MBA - Master of Business Administration A bachelor's degree in any subject with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks

B.Pharm (Duration: 4 years)

Specialization Eligibility
Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) H.S.C/(10+2) or equivalent qualification with Physics, Chemistry, Biology with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks

BBA (Duration: 3 years)

Specialization Eligibility
BBA - Bachelor of Business Administration A pass in Higher Secondary Examination or Equivalent (Academic or Vocational stream) with a Minimum aggregate of 50% marks

B.Sc. (Duration: 3 Years)

Specialization Eligibility
Hotel and Catering Management 10+2 (Higher Secondary) in any discipline from a recognized board.
Computer Science 10 + 2 (Higher Secondary) with Mathematics mandatory or Computer Science with Mathematics. (Minimum aggregate of 50%)

MCA (Duration: 2 Years)

Specialization Eligibility
MCA (Approved by AICTE)
  • Passed B.C.A/B.Sc. in Computer Science/B.Sc. in Information Technology/B.Sc in Computer Technology/Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science Engineering or equivalent or a degree from a University recognized or certified by UGC/SRMIST/AIU
  • Passed B.Sc./B.Com./B.A. from a University recognized/certified by UGC/SRMIST/AIU with Mathematics at the 10+2 level or the graduation level.
  • A minimum percentage of marks/CGPA as prescribed by the SRMIST.
  • Notwithstanding the above, actual admissions will be based on the rules and regulations of the UGC/AICTE/any other competent authorities.

Ph.D

The candidate should have completed a two-year Master's degree or any other professional degree declared as being equivalent to the Master’s degree by a corresponding statutory regulatory body. They should have passed this degree with at least 55% marks aggregate or its equivalent grade 'B' in the UGC 7-point scale (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) or an equivalent degree from a foreign educational institution accredited by an Assessment and Accreditation Agency that is approved, recognized or authorized by an authority, established or incorporated under a law in its home country or any other statutory authority in that country for the purposes of assessing, accrediting or assuring quality and standards of educational institutions

Candidates who have cleared the M.Phil. coursework with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade 'B' in the UGC 7-point scale (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) and successfully completed the M.Phil. Degree, are also eligible to proceed to do research work leading to a Ph.D Degree at the same institution.

A relaxation of 5% marks, or an equivalent relaxation of grade, may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/differently-abled.

ELIGIBILITY FOR Ph.D
