The modern world is defined by the expanding role of IT in business, science, government, social structures, and personal lives. As an academic discipline, this Department focuses on developing technical and managerial excellence of IT domain specialists and professionals.

This excellence is achieved by blending application functionalities of software project management with system audits, applied to diverse programming paradigms. Apart from the core subjects,

the students learn and gain expertise of the domain through elective subjects in the areas of application software development and their deployment across organizations, convergence of diverse processes, enterprise-wide applications, automation, and security management. The students are also given significant exposure to emerging technologies like strategic computing, web engineering, content management solutions, semantic web techniques, and other related areas like cyber laws and ethics.

The Department provides its graduates with the skills and knowledge for appropriate professional positions and helps them reach leadership positions or pursue higher studies or research. The aim of this Department is to inculcate a practical understanding of programming languages, web technologies, networking technologies, information management, and cybernetics. The courses on virtualization and cloud computing enable them to keep abreast of the latest technologies and tools used in the IT industry.

Undergraduate Programmme

The B. Tech. program provides graduates with the skills and knowledge for appropriate professional positions and helps them reach upto leadership positions or pursue graduate studies and research in recent trends. The program is designed so that the students develops a practical understanding of programming languages, web technologies, networking technologies, information management and cybernetics. The courses on virtualization and cloud computing enable the students to keep abreast of the latest technologies and tools used in the IT industry.
