Overview

SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST) have taken various research initiatives over the years to mobilize the available knowledge resources for research and also, to come up strongly with innovative solutions.

All the research centers of SRMIST function in a cooperative manner to identify and initiate applied as well as cross-disciplinary research projects, create and combine patentable Intellectual Property (IP) components, design and develop prototypes & proof of concepts, manage and market products & solutions (through know-how transferred incubated companies), win and work to deliver funded research projects.

Faculty and students are actively involved in research, as the university is

• Committed to fostering and furthering research excellence
• Specially focused on emerging areas of greate potential like Nanotechnology, Bioengineering, Energy, Environment, Materials and Embedded systems among others
• Actively involved in a research projects that have nation building and public cause at their heart like for instance rural healthcare, among others.

Research is an integral and crucial component of learning initiatives at SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST). Since the starting of University, our esteemed and beloved Founder-Chancellor, Dr. T. R. Paarivendhar, diligently emphasized and motivated every member of the SRMIST community to cultivate a research-oriented mindset within our teaching and learning processes. His visionary leadership has enabled us to carve a significant path in our commitment to research, facilitating substantial investments in knowledge resources and empowering us to develop innovative solutions.

Incentives

SRM IST Delhi NCR Campus provides incentives to all faculty members for publishing papers in indexed journals, patents and book chapters.

Recent Projects (2023 onwards)

SIMIO Grant Approval (an International projects) providing 750 Institutional Licenses Software of each worth ($30000) having total of $22,500,000 (Rs 18 crores) in the year 2023-2024.

• The cost of one license is $30000 (as per letter of collaboration)
• Total license 750
• Cost for one License $30000
• So, total cost $22,500,000.

Seed Money approved of worth Rs 75000/- for the project “ Application of mathematical modeling, AI and soft computing in diagnosis of cancer” in Department of Mathematics
