A workshop on “Financial Literacy” was organised for the students of BBA First year, to enrich their ability for making better financial decisions and to empower their skills in the domain of finance and allied field. The key note speaker are: Mr Sachin K Sheoran (Founder & MD at HBF Direct Limited) and Mr Mandeep Rawat (Vice president at HBF Direct Limited). It was indeed a great session. Thanku to Respected Director Sir and Dean MGMT sir for allowing us to conduct the session and for their all time support.

Any other information: The topics covered were ‘Becoming a Better You’ and ‘Dealing with Change’. The workshop was conducted for the students of MBA 2nd Semester and BBA 3rdyear. The ‘Desert Survival game was played wherein the participants filled up a questionnaire followed by self-evaluations. The participants got to know how certain behavioural traits have a direct correlation with their progress and placements.
Participants also get to know the areas they need to work on to get better outcomes. Change is happening all the time and needs to be understood to manage it better. Guidance was given to participants on how to plan their next steps and proactively deal with change.

Any other information: The topics covered were ‘Building a better resume’’ and ‘Learn towrite a business case. The workshop was conducted for the students of MBA 2nd Semesterand BBA 3rd year. Employers have little time at their disposal to screen potential employeesand spend a few seconds only to conduct a preliminary screening. A good resume shouldhave all the right components that are written and placed in the right place for first clearing.
The screening process and then being shortlisted for the next level. The ability to write good business cases for new jobs aids in boosting one’s profile in the new organisation.

The participants were made to participate in different forms of discussionsand encouraged to speak up about their views in order to be heard. Participants couldobserve an improvement in personal effectiveness after incorporating the tips and certainessential elements during the workshop such as writing and structuring their thoughts that flow in a logical manner. Effective discussions happen when the purpose is clear to all.

On 18thOctober 2022, FMS, at SRM IST, organised a Seminar on the topic “Investors Awareness Programme” by Mr. Harbinder Singh Sokhi (Bombay Stock Exchange-IPF) and Mr Amit Jain (Central Depository Services Ltd). They delivered a detailed lecture on Financial Planning and Investments. They explained in detail the concept of financial planning and setting financial goals for the short term and long term. Mr Sokhi also explained the various investment asset classes and asset allocation options related to the capital markets available for investors and the pitfalls associated with these investments. They further explained the working of Capital Markets, process of IPOs, pricing and allotment in IPOs, financial goals and the need for being aware of the risks associated with investments in the capital markets.
Students had a great time interacting with experts and gaining valuable insights. It was an excellent opportunity for students interested in learning about Capital Markets.

A Guest Lecture on the topic “Creating awareness about drafting and processing of Patents, Copyrights and trademarks” was held on Monday , 22nd August 2022. The resource person was Ms Pooja Kumar, International Speaker/Mentor/Startup facilitator / Registered PatentAgent /IP Trainer/ and Founder Innove Intellects. The programme was attended by students of MBA . She explained the concept of patents, copyrights and trademarks and their relevance in modern business.
She then went on to explain the process of filing for patents, copyrights and trademarks, including the time period and the amount of money to be spent.
She also mentioned the benefits for patent filing available for women.
She also described the format for filing of patents and the authorities and offices where they were to be filed.

Introduction
The department of faculty of management studies, SRM institute of science and technology Delhi NCR campus Ghaziabad has organised one dayPanel Discussion on Union Budget-2022to develop analytical skills among students on 7th February 2022. Aim of the discussion was focused on learning and understanding of budget and its direction & impact on Indian Economy in long term. Budget discussion was an endeavour to develop analytical skills to look budget ‘beyond the wall’ and read figures ‘between the lines’.
Day-1
"The Budget, along with the Economic Survey, showcases the vision of the government. It estimates the income of the government, in terms of taxation and other proposals, and expenditure by way of allocation of government funds to various priority sectors, departments, and so on."
On February7, 2022, students of BBA and MBA participated in panel discussion brought light on different components of budget. They discussed different sources of revenue and expenditure. Further, they discussed the impact of government expenditure on different sectors. They discussed in detail the allocation of budget in agriculture, defence, infrastructure digital India on direction of Indian economy in long run. Further, they discuss impact of crypto currency.
Students have learned the through the productive sessions and up skilled themselves. Dean Management, Ravi Shekhar Tiwary and other faculty members of the Department of Management Studies were present throughout the session. Student’s presence and participation was overwhelming. Students experience and feedback were excellent.
1. Industrial Visit to Coca-Cola Plant
The students Faculty of Management Studies, SRM-IST students went for an industrial visit to Coca-Cola Plant in Greater Noida on 27, 28 and 29th March 2023. The visit was organized to provide students with hands-on experience in the operations of a reputed beverage manufacturing company and to gain insights into the latest technologies and management practices used in the industry.
The plant has several sections that are dedicated to various stages of the production process, including syrup preparation, mixing, filling, labeling, and packaging. The students were provided with a detailed overview of the entire production process of Coca-Cola products. The company greatly emphasizes quality control, and students were shown the various quality control measures that are followed at the plant. The plant has a highly organized structure with clear lines of authority and a strong emphasis on teamwork.
The industrial visit to Coca-Cola Plant was an excellent learning experience for the students. The visit helped the students appreciate the importance of quality control and sustainability in production. Overall, it was a highly informative and engaging visit, and the students gained valuable insights that will be beneficial for their future careers in management.
2. Industrial Visit to “Yakult Danone India Pvt. Ltd. Sonipat”
On March 03, 2023 (Friday), BBA/MBA students visited Yakult Danone India Pvt. Ltd. in Sonipat. They were welcomed by company representatives who showcased the production process of probiotic drinks. The visit provided insights into advanced technology, quality control measures, and marketing strategies. Students engaged with management and employees during an interactive session, gaining valuable industry knowledge. The visit enhanced their understanding of the food and beverage sector, bridging the gap between theory and practice. It was an informative experience, equipping students with practical exposure and industry insights for their future careers.
3. Industrial Visit to Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (LPG Bottling Plant)
On 3rd March 2023, the students of the Faculty of Management Studies went for an industrial visit to Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (LPG Bottling Plant) in Loni, Ghaziabad. The objective of the visit was to gain practical knowledge about the production process of LPG and understand the management practices implemented in the industry.
Plant Manager gave a brief introduction about the company's history, operations, and the importance of LPG in our daily lives. Students We were then taken for a tour of the plant, where students witnessed the entire process of LPG bottling.
During the visit, students had the opportunity to interact with the plant's management team, who shared their insights about the industry's management practices. Students learned about the importance of safety measures in the production process, employee training programs, and the use of technology to improve efficiency.
4. Industrial Visit to Friends Engineering Works in Panipat
On February 27, 2023 (Monday), BBA/MBA students embarked on an industrial visit to Friends Engineering Works in Panipat. The visit aimed to provide students with practical exposure to the manufacturing processes and operations of the company. Upon arrival, the students were warmly welcomed by the company representatives who guided them through the facility. They observed the various stages involved in the production of engineering equipment and machinery. The visit offered students an opportunity to witness the implementation of advanced technology and quality control measures. They also had interactive sessions with industry professionals, gaining insights into the company's management practices. Overall, the industrial visit to Friends Engineering Works proved to be an enlightening experience, allowing students to connect theoretical knowledge with real-world applications in the manufacturing sector.
5. Industrial Visit to Kwality Fasteners located in Panipat
On February 27, 2023 (Monday), BBA/MBA students embarked on an industrial visit to Kwality Fasteners located in Panipat. The purpose of the visit was to provide students with practical insights into the manufacturing processes and operations of the company. Upon arrival, the students were greeted by the company representatives who introduced them to the production facility. They observed the various stages involved in the manufacturing of fasteners and witnessed the implementation of advanced machinery and quality control measures. The visit also included interactive sessions with industry professionals, allowing students to gain valuable insights into the company's management practices. Overall, the industrial visit to Kwality Fasteners was an informative experience, enabling students to bridge the gap between classroom knowledge and real-world applications in the manufacturing industry.
6. Industrial Visit to Modi Sugar Mills
The Students of BBA & MBA had an exciting Industrial Visit to Modi Sugar Mills on 13th and 14th Feb 2023. As part of our education curriculum, students were given a comprehensive tour of the facilities and learned about the sugar production process from start to finish.
Students were impressed by the scale of operation, from the vast sugarcane field to the intricate machinery used to extract and process the sugar. They also gained insight into the logistics and economics of the industry, and how the company operates on a day-to-day basis.
Throughout the visit, the staff at Modi Sugar Mills were incredibly welcoming and informative, answering all of our questions and providing us with a wealth of knowledge. It was truly inspiring to see the hard work and dedication that goes into making a successful sugar production business.
Overall, our visit to Modi Sugar Mills was a fantastic learning experience.
7. Industrial Visit to Karpa Ram Dairy Pvt. Ltd.
Industrial visit has its’ own importance in a career of a student, who is pursuing a professional degree like BBA / MBA. A industrial visit to Karpa Ram Dairy Pvt. Ltd. was conducted on 01st April 2022 for BBA/MBA students. Where students got the chance to learn practically from theoretical knowledge through interaction, production process, HR Practices, Logistics and supply chain, working methods, and employment practices in industries.
8. Industrial Visit to Prakash Woollen & Synthetic Mills Ltd.
Industrial visits provide the students with an opportunity to learn practically through interaction, working methods and employment practices. When pursuing a professional degree like BBA, the industrial visit has its own importance for students because only the theoretical knowledge is not sufficient for their proper understanding of the actual business operations at the ground level.
To achieve this goal, an industrial visit to Prakash Woollen and Synthetic Ltd., Amroha was arranged on 28th March 2022 for BBA/MBA students.
9. Industrial Visit to AVRO INDIA LIMITED
Intending to go beyond classroom learning, and for providing this practical exposure an industrial visit was organized by the Faculty of Management Studies to ‘AVRO INDIA LIMITED’ (formerly known as Avon Moldplast Limited) G.T.Road Industrial Areas for the students of BBA/MBA on 14th Dec 2021.
10. Industrial Visit to Hi tech Ferrous & Non Ferrous India Private Limited
An industrial visit to Hi tech Ferrous & Non Ferrous India Private Limited in Bawal, Haryana, was scheduled for BBA students on 13th December 2021 (Monday). The visit aimed to provide students with a firsthand understanding of the operations and processes in the ferrous and non-ferrous industry. The students were expected to witness the manufacturing and production processes, observe the use of advanced machinery and technologies, and gain insights into quality control measures and safety protocols. The visit was anticipated to be an informative and practical learning experience, enabling the students to connect classroom knowledge with real-world applications in the industry.
