Hotel Management

The state-of-the-art infrastructure at SRM Institute of Catering Technology and Hotel Management has been created in accordance with the best industry standards in mind. This allows our students to gain knowledge of the various equipment and practices through a hands-on approach, much required for their future professional life.

Some of the major areas where students gain knowledge are:

Food Production

  • Three kitchens and two laboratories furnished with modern equipment to help students practice with the latest tools and gadgets.
  • One advanced training kitchen for the final-year students to practice international cuisines.
  • One quantity food production laboratory to practice Indian cuisines and bulk cooking techniques. This kitchen is also used for bulk cooking for college events.
  • One basic training kitchen for first-year students to practice their basics perfectly.
  • One garde manger kitchen to practice vegetable carvings, salads, cold cuts, hors d'œuvres, appetizers, canapés, pâtés, etc.

Bakery and Confectionery

  • One futuristically equipped bakery and confectionery department.
  • The state-of-the-art equipment enables 20 students per session to hone their baking artistry.
  • The final-year students learn the art of chocolate and sugar work here.

Food and Beverage Service

  • One training restaurant trains students to serve food and beverages to guests.
  • The first-year students are groomed here in the basics of service styles and sequence of foods as well as general upkeep.

Accommodation Operation

  • Two mock guest rooms provide hands-on training to the students.
  • A large public service area trains them to handle different guests and their various requirements.
  • Two practical laboratories with the latest facilities and equipment make the heart of the accommodation operation tick perfectly.
  • One state-of-the-art house laundry trains them in this area of operation.

Front Office Operation

  • This mock Front Office has been designed as per the finest hotel styles to provide students with the right atmosphere to practice properly.
  • Three mock offices are well-equipped with all the latest gadgets required for flawless hotel operation. This helps train students in the right environment.

Computer Department

  • This department provides students with 40 computers to help them practice individually.
  • Our fully Wi-Fi-enabled campus provides students access to learning resources anywhere and anytime.

Classrooms

  • Six well-ventilated and clean classrooms are provided for lectures.
  • They turn into smart classrooms and are all equipped with LCD projectors, screens and Wi-Fi connectivity for audio-visual presentations.
  • For larger gatherings, meetings, events, etc., we have a well-equipped auditorium that can seat 150 people.

Library

  • Our three libraries house thousands of books, journals and other materials on various disciplines.
  • It also provides magazines - both international and national - to keep our students updated in their fields of interest and helps enrich their knowledge of the subject.
  • A common high-tech library dedicates itself to provide students with knowledge of the outside world.
