Greetings!

The significance of communication in our life is paramount and next only to survival skills. It is only through communication that people band together and then through fruitful collaboration of agile minds they achieve insurmountable heights of excellence. Science and Technology no doubt enhance the standards of life, but without the proper skills of communication no achievement can be disseminated to the relevant stakeholders, in the absence of which even groundbreaking achievements would be rendered futile. Hence, the indispensable contribution of language and communication is established.

The Department of EFL at SRMIST, Delhi-NCR Campus is dedicated to this very goal. To enable students with the skills of expressing themselves appropriately, concisely, coherently; and comprehend their interlocutor's point of view through their speech, body language.

Realizing the crucial role of language in today’s era, we have state- of- the- art infrastructure in the language lab with modern technologies and up-to-date applications where students get to experience not just the written form of language, but spoken form as well. The Department of EFL comprises of French, German and Japanese languages as a compulsory subjects in the curriculum. The amalgamation of these foreign languages enables students with the skills to compete at a global level as only through expedient language proficiency and pronounced communication skills. The students’ creative talents are also identified and enhanced through personal guidance, research and English Club activities. Discussion forums, debates and presentations are organized as part of the club activities to give the students a platform to express their ideas and project their talents and skills.

With the Faculty’s rich experience, many alumni have walked through our corridors to embark on illustrious careers which have been guiding lights in our society and nation, and on a global stage.
