The Department of English and Foreign Languages, hosted a spectacular Open Mic Event under the Kalamgiri-Literary Club, on 2nd November 2023 at Pharmacy Auditorium, SRMIST from 2-4.30 pm, graced by respected Director Dr. S. Viswanathan, Dean Dr. DK Sharma, and Dean (E&T)- Dr. RP Mahapatra, Dean (S&H)- Dr. Navin Ahlawat.The event featured a rich blend of poetry, music, and stand-up comedy, showcasing the remarkable talents of students. The event was coordinated by Kalamgiri Coordinator Dr. Anchal Mishra and judged by Dr. Oshin Sharma.
About 50 talented participants took center stage, sharing their original works in poetry, singing, and stand-up comedy.
The evening kicked off with captivating poetry recitations that left the audience enthralled. The students showcased their vocal skills during the musical segment, and the event concluded with rib-tickling stand-up comedy performances that had the crowd in splits.
The presence of the distinguished guests added prestige to the event, underscoring the significance of art and creativity. Kalamgiri's ‘Open Mic’ competition provided a platform to showcase talent, celebrate the power of artistic expression.
